About the role
Responsibilities
- Engage travelers to explain the purpose of public health surveillance and monitoring programs
- Collect health-related information following approved procedures and training requirements
- Educate participants on public health initiatives, disease prevention, and health promotion
- Greet travelers with a professional, welcoming, and compassionate demeanor
- Maintain strict confidentiality of participant information and protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA
- Adhere to all public health, regulatory, and infection prevention protocols
- Collaborate with management and public health partners to support operational objectives
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and public-facing areas
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one (1) year of customer-facing healthcare, patient care, or public health-related experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods in an active airport environment
- Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Phlebotomist
- Previous experience supporting disease surveillance, screening, testing, or vaccination programs
- Knowledge of HIPAA, infection prevention, and specimen collection protocols
- Bilingual or multilingual language skills
