About the role

Responsibilities

  • Engage travelers to explain the purpose of public health surveillance and monitoring programs
  • Collect health-related information following approved procedures and training requirements
  • Educate participants on public health initiatives, disease prevention, and health promotion
  • Greet travelers with a professional, welcoming, and compassionate demeanor
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of participant information and protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA
  • Adhere to all public health, regulatory, and infection prevention protocols
  • Collaborate with management and public health partners to support operational objectives
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and public-facing areas

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer-facing healthcare, patient care, or public health-related experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in an active airport environment
  • Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Phlebotomist
  • Previous experience supporting disease surveillance, screening, testing, or vaccination programs
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, infection prevention, and specimen collection protocols
  • Bilingual or multilingual language skills
