About the role
Responsibilities
- Engage travelers to explain the purpose of public health surveillance and monitoring programs
- Collect health-related information and ensure accurate documentation following approved procedures
- Educate participants on public health initiatives, disease prevention, and health promotion
- Greet travelers with a professional and compassionate demeanor while answering program questions
- Maintain strict confidentiality of participant information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, biosafety, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with management and public health partners to support operational objectives
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and public-facing areas
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of customer-facing healthcare, patient care, or public health-related experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods in an active airport environment
- Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Phlebotomist
- Previous experience with disease surveillance, screening, testing, or vaccination programs
- Knowledge of HIPAA and specimen collection protocols
- Bilingual or multilingual language skills
