Public Health Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care including assessment, medication administration, and education for diseases such as HIV, syphilis, and TB
• Assist with medication abortion services and provide medical triage via telemedicine hotline
• Conduct sensitive medical interviews regarding sexual history and orientation
• Perform case-finding activities, counseling, and follow-up
• Adhere to the Nursing Code of Ethics and promote patient rights and safety

Requirements

• Valid New York State Registered Nurse license
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited college
• Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field
• Two years of relevant experience in public health or hospital nursing
• One year of experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, or educational capacity
