About the role
Responsibilities
- Travel to elementary schools across the five boroughs to conduct vision screenings
- Screen Pre-K, kindergarten, and 1st grade students using vision tests
- Set up and break down screening equipment
- Prepare referral forms and support follow-up for students who fail screenings
- Record, tally, and enter screening data accurately into ASHR
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Eleventh grade plus one year of satisfactory health-related or clerical experience
- Equivalent education and/or experience accepted
- Completion of eleventh grade required
- Ability to travel citywide and work with school staff and children
