Public Finance Analyst/Paralegal

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in tax-exempt multifamily rental housing bond transactions, serving as underwriter’s counsel, special tax-exempt debt counsel, or special borrower’s counsel.
• Review and analyze bond documents, financing structures, cash flow analyses, financial statements, and debt service schedules.
• Assist clients in preparing financing term sheets, deal summaries, participant lists, timetables, and due diligence materials.
• Conduct legal and financial research related to SEC and MSRB requirements, tax-exempt debt financing rules, and state/local government finance statutes.
• Draft and proofread underwriting documents, including official statements, bond purchase agreements, and continuing disclosure agreements.
• Analyze market trends and public finance data to support client financings.
• Manage deadlines for multiple concurrent transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, public administration, business, real estate, or a related field.
• 1-4 years of relevant experience in public finance, municipal advisory, investment banking, government finance, or commercial real estate finance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to work under pressure during pricings and closings, including overtime when required.
