About the role
Responsibilities
- Defend public entities in litigation matters involving dangerous conditions, premises liability, sexual abuse, personal injury, and wrongful death
- Manage all aspects of cases including legal strategy and research
- Draft pleadings and motions
- Manage discovery processes
- Argue motions in court
- Attend mediations and trials
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm environment
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Current admission to the California State Bar
- Skills in legal research, drafting, and discovery management
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience defending public entities
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Experience arguing motions and attending mediations
- Trial experience
