Psychological Health Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on complex psychological health matters including suicide risk, trauma, PTSD, and stress
• Advise on support pathways, intervention options, and referral processes
• Develop, implement, and evaluate psychological health programmes and resources
• Contribute to organisational psychological health and wellbeing strategies
• Coach HSW Advisors and leaders to recognise and respond to psychosocial risks
• Liaise with external providers and specialist services while maintaining confidentiality

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health, or Social Work
• Relevant professional registration and practising certification
• Experience in emergency services, first responder, defence, or high-risk operational environments
• Demonstrated experience in psychological health or workplace wellbeing initiatives
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and psychosocial hazards
• Proven ability to coordinate external support providers and referral pathways
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
