Psychiatrist

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management
• Manage crisis intervention and continuity of behavioral health care in a secure residential setting
• Support on-site and telehealth psychiatry services
• Assess and manage patients with serious mental illness and suicide risk
• Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychiatric medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing and primary care providers
• Document findings accurately in electronic health records
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and support stabilization and transfer

Requirements

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Psychiatrist in Texas
• Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience in psychiatry
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Completion of medical specialty training leading to ABPN board eligibility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• U.S. citizenship and five-year U.S. residency
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and obtain security clearances

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in detention, correctional, or residential healthcare settings
• Proficiency in Spanish
