Psychiatrist

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams and diagnose psychiatric disorders including mood, anxiety, eating, and co-occurring disorders
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, provide psychotherapies, and determine appropriate levels of care
• Maintain an average patient load of 18–24 patients per week, completing documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, referring providers, and family members to optimize treatment outcomes
• Advocate for patients through level-of-care documentation and participation in insurance peer reviews
• Serve as clinical supervisor and mentor to staff, and provide community education when requested

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Graduation from an accredited medical school and completed accredited residency program
• Board Certified in General Psychiatry and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state(s) seeing patients
• Current BLS/CPR certifications, licensures, and registrations
• Knowledge of regulatory body requirements such as Joint Commission standards
