Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor the psychiatric condition of patients in collaboration with physicians and other care providers
• Determine and assess health status of new or existing patients through medical histories and examinations
• Develop patient care plans and treatment strategies based on clinical analysis
• Order appropriate medications within statutory limitations
• Complete thorough and timely clinical documentation and maintain accurate patient charts
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary treatment teams and participate in staff meetings
• Advocate for patients regarding levels of care and insurance peer reviews

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Current State Certified Physician Assistant license
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant certification
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Psychiatric experience working with psychiatric populations as a Psych tech or Floor Nursing
