Psychiatric Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological problem identification and crisis interventions
• Deliver direct nursing services and mental health assessments
• Administer medications including intramuscular injections
• Draw blood for lab work and monitor vital signs
• Coordinate medical care with clinical staff and psychiatrists
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
• Assist consumers with psychological and social rehabilitation
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing

Requirements

• For LPN: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and valid Colorado LPN license
• For RN: Valid Colorado Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient behavior and respond to alarms
• Capacity to handle emotionally charged situations and maintain professional boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience working with patients with serious and persistent mental illness (for LPN)
• Minimum two years of nursing experience (for RN)
• Experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or ASL
