Psychiatric Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions, and mental health assessments
• Administer medications including intramuscular medications
• Monitor vital signs and draw blood for lab work
• Coordinate medical care and interventions with clinical staff and psychiatrists
• Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing

Requirements

• LPN: Graduation from accredited school of nursing and valid Colorado LPN license
• RN: Valid Colorado RN license in good standing
• RN: Minimum two years of nursing experience (behavioral health or outpatient preferred)
• BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform precise clinical procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience working with consumers with serious and persistent mental illness
• Experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or ASL
