Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy for youth aged 16-25
• Assess patients to determine psychotropic medication needs and prescribe as necessary
• Provide outpatient clinical care including psychoeducation and follow-up sessions
• Collaborate with Health Clinic staff and medical providers to coordinate care for complex patients
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records for Medicaid and Managed Care billing
• Assist in the development of mental health department policies and procedures
• Consult with community agencies for referrals and continued mental health care

Requirements

• Valid medical degree and current medical license
• NPI and DEA number for Medicaid and Managed Care credentialing
• Board certification or eligibility (must obtain certification within 18 months)
• Extensive experience in counseling youth living with mental illness and/or trauma
• Strong clinical, counseling, and diagnostic skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with eClinicalWorks
• Familiarity with evidence-based clinical models
