Psych Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits, ensuring all forms are completed and integrated.
• Welcome patients, conduct check-ins, and escort them to examination rooms.
• Perform delegated medical tasks including recording vitals, medical history, and reasons for visits.
• Conduct visual acuity screenings and administer injections.
• Assist providers with medical procedures and perform blood draws.
• Collect specimens and conduct urine drug screenings, communicating results as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms, including stocking supplies and disposing of biohazard waste.
• Work collaboratively with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a CAAHEP-accredited program.
• Valid and current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Denova will assist with obtaining this upon offer acceptance).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a health-related field.
• At least six months of healthcare experience.
• Proficiency in electronic record-keeping systems (EMR), billing software, or insurance portals.
• Bilingual capabilities.
