PSC Manager

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to collect blood specimens
• Verify test requisitions and patient identification
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and isolation procedures
• Track specimens by initialing, dating, and noting collection times
• Report quality-control results and KPIs to leadership on a biweekly basis
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, legal regulations, and JCAHO standards
• Manage phlebotomy equipment and supplies, including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Train and oversee phlebotomists to support patient volume growth
• Monitor draw distribution, customer feedback, and scheduling issues
• Resolve unusual test orders by contacting physicians or reference laboratories

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• 5+ years of high-level customer care experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent (required where state-mandated)
• Experience managing or supervising phlebotomy operations and teams
• BS/BA degree
• Previous financial and budgetary experience
• Bilingual language skills
