About the role
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the regulatory reporting lifecycle, focusing on prudential reporting, capital adequacy, and liquidity returns.
- Review and challenge the output of all prudential regulatory reports, providing insightful commentaries on variances and trends to senior management.
- Monitor and translate new prudential regulatory changes into actionable data and system updates within the reporting framework.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Finance, and IT to ensure data alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with external software providers and internal Data Engineering teams to drive enhancements to reporting platforms.
- Oversee data mapping exercises and guide ETL processes to ensure accurate and scalable data flows.
- Manage testing phases, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), for reporting infrastructure projects and system updates.
- Maintain rigorous documentation for data dictionaries, system workflows, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a prudential regulatory reporting role within an FCA-regulated MIFIDPRU firm or a PRA-regulated banking institution.
- Deep technical understanding of CRR and MIFIDPRU regulations.
- Hands-on experience producing complex capital and liquidity returns.
- Strong track record in reporting system development, including knowledge of data mapping, ETL processes, and UAT methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interrogate large datasets and distill complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills to explain regulatory nuances to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting or finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA).
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
