Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all academic programs, faculty affairs, and academic operations
• Lead the development and implementation of the university's academic strategic priorities and degree alignment
• Oversee faculty recruitment, retention, professional development, and the tenure process
• Direct the expansion of distance learning and online degree programs to support enrollment growth
• Lead university-wide assessment, accreditation efforts (including SACSCOC), and institutional effectiveness
• Drive initiatives to improve student retention, progression, and career readiness
• Manage Academic Affairs budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning
• Serve as the primary academic representative to the LSU System and the Louisiana Board of Regents

Requirements

• Earned doctorate (terminal degree) from a regionally accredited institution
• Successful academic leadership or administrative experience
• Demonstrated experience in accreditation processes and academic policy review
• Proven experience in institutional effectiveness and program assessment
• Experience in faculty development and pedagogical innovation
