Prototyping Lab Technician, Robotics

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers and researchers to support prototype development, experimentation, and hardware iteration.
• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and repair robotic systems and electromechanical assemblies.
• Design and fabricate fixtures, adapters, and test equipment to accelerate development.
• Execute low-volume builds, engineering changes, and rework for mechanical assemblies, wire harnesses, and custom electronics.
• Develop and execute hardware experiments in partnership with engineering teams.
• Maintain lab equipment, tooling, inventory, and workspaces.
• Refine processes to improve build quality, repeatability, and overall lab efficiency.
• Use software tools to configure hardware, collect data, and interact with robotic systems.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience working with complex electromechanical or robotic systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using common electronic test equipment.
• Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience building and debugging wire harnesses and custom electronics.
• Proficiency with the Linux command line.
• Strong technical communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-velocity research environment.
