Prototype Technician Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Assist Prototype Technicians in the development of new and existing outdoor power equipment
• Utilize machine shop equipment, welding, and sheet metal fabrication tools to prototype parts
• Operate mills, CNC controls, lathes, and other metal equipment for engineering design projects
• Fabricate sheet metal parts using press brakes to form laser-cut blanks
• Read blueprints and diagrams to create prototype parts using correct materials and tools
• Use computers and specialized software to complete technical projects
• Contribute creative ideas for quality improvements, cost reductions, and manufacturing processes

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Genuine interest in hands-on mechanical work and learning new technical skills
• Familiarity with basic shop equipment such as mills, lathes, or welding tools
• Ability to read basic blueprints or technical diagrams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a shop environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
