Prototype & Design Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design and build lab spaces to meet the evolving needs of engineering and manufacturing teams
• Improve lab capabilities and optimize space for efficient workflows
• Own and maintain inventory of lab equipment, tools, chemicals, and consumables
• Implement systems for lab organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance
• Provide hands-on technical support by building prototypes and setting up test stations
• Utilize additive and subtractive manufacturing to produce high-quality prototype parts
• Operate and maintain various machines and power/hand tools
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with prototyping, model making, fabrication, testing, and lab operations
• Experience planning and building out labs and R&D workspaces
• Familiarity with R&D lab equipment, tools, and workflows
• Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a prototyping environment
• Part design experience
• Experience programming and operating laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC machines
• Knowledge of medical device regulatory standards
• Experience with inventory management systems and quality control processes
