About the role

Responsibilities

  • Respond to high-threat situations, including active shooters, violent subjects, and medical emergencies
  • Preserve order and enforce security regulations to protect personnel, visitors, and property
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols to ensure the safety and security of assigned worksites
  • Control property access and monitor site entrances, exits, and movement of people and vehicles
  • Monitor CCTV and other security alarm systems to detect and respond to incidents
  • Secure incident or crime scenes and preserve evidence as required
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain daily logs
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees and the public

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Current Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) certification
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, psychological examination, and medical screening
  • Ability to qualify with a handgun, shotgun, and tactical carbine per MCOLES standards
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift schedule, including afternoons, midnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to physically respond to emergency situations and pass annual fitness testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a sworn or PA330 U.S. law enforcement officer
  • Experience serving on a tactical team
  • Current State of Michigan Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
