About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute high-pressure Proof and Burst testing using pneumatic and hydrostatic systems
- Perform ultra-sensitive leak detection using helium sniffers or vacuum detection methods
- Conduct functional checkouts on solenoid valves, regulators, and transducers to verify performance
- Build custom test manifolds and ground support equipment (GSE)
- Install and calibrate pressure transducers, thermocouples, and flow meters
- Interface with DAQ systems to record and monitor real-time test data
- Troubleshoot hardware failures and distinguish between component issues and test-setup artifacts
- Maintain a pristine cleanroom environment and adhere to strict safety protocols for hazardous propellants
- Manage the propulsion test cell following 5S organizational standards
Requirements
- 3+ years of technical experience in aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, or a similar high-stakes field
- Hands-on experience with pneumatics or hydraulics
- Deep proficiency with fluid system components such as regulators, check valves, and transducers
- Ability to read and interpret complex P&IDs and CAD drawings
- Experience using torque wrenches, tube benders, and flared fittings
- Physical ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted and perform tasks involving standing, bending, and climbing ladders
- Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco, including overtime, weekends, and potential travel to launch sites
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the aerospace industry
- Experience handling space flight components and spacecraft environmental testing
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Experience with thermal vacuum (TVAC) chambers or cryogenics
- Basic familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, or TwinCAT
