Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and perform propellant mixing and solid rocket motor component assembly
• Conduct energetics research and development for new energetic formulations
• Requisition and organize materials and processing required for mix and cleaning
• Maintain and clean mix equipment and milling equipment
• Perform energetics duties under the direction of engineers and supervisors
• Support test flights, final assembly of prototype energetic articles, and solid missile systems
• Prepare materials test and analysis samples
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow preventative maintenance schedules

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a chemical, aerospace development, or manufacturing environment
• Experience working with hazardous chemicals beyond standard solvents and cleaners
• Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance and transport 35lbs repetitively
• Ability to get and maintain a state explosives permit (employer sponsored)
• Medically cleared to wear a respirator and operate powered industrial vehicles
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee per ITAR regulations
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate development control software

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in energetics manufacturing or processing
• Experience setting up and operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes (Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas)
• Ability to develop or modify CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, NX, or PowerMill)
• Experience with process documentation and development
