Propulsion Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own development of new or existing products or systems as a technical lead
• Perform conceptual and detailed performance calculations, systems modelling, and analysis
• Manage requirements gathering, definition, and systems engineering activities
• Plan, set up, execute, and analyze propulsion system tests
• Communicate with internal and external project stakeholders
• Make technical risk-based decisions to solve engineering challenges
• Manage projects including scheduling, tasking, and status reporting
• Mentor and coach team members on technical and professional development
• Contribute to engineering process development and documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
• Demonstrated hands-on engineering skills
• US citizenship and willingness to obtain a security clearance
• For Level II: 2+ years of experience in propulsion system development or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in propulsion system modelling (Amesim, EcosimPro, Simulink, Simscape)
• Experience with electrical and chemical storable propellants
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation
• Mechanical design experience using NX or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with GD&T and engineering drawings
• Experience with PLM software (Teamcenter, Windchill)
• Experience with National Instruments data acquisition systems
• Experience with Jama
• Masters or PhD in a relevant field
