Propulsion Engineer

About the Company

Cowboy Space Corp. is building the infrastructure to power and connect the orbital economy. Our satellites operate in Low Earth Orbit to collect sunlight and enable a new class of capabilities—from powering on-orbit compute, to transmitting energy via infrared lasers.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, build, test, or integrate propulsion systems for aerospace applications
• Work across disciplines such as propulsion system architecture, fluid systems, or combustion and thermal analysis
• Manage pressurized systems, test infrastructure, and operations
• Handle integration and qualification testing
• Work with feed systems, valves, regulators, tanks, engine controls, or ground support equipment (GSE)

Requirements

• Experience in rocket or satellite propulsion
• Experience with fluid systems engineering or cryogenic systems
• Experience with thermal systems or test engineering
• Experience with GNC/controls related to propulsion
• Experience with high-pressure or harsh-environment systems
• Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)

Preferred Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Experience designing or supporting propulsion or fluid-based systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• CAD, analysis, testing, or integration experience relevant to propulsion hardware
