Propulsion Components Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Own development of new or existing products or systems as a technical lead
• Perform conceptual and detailed CAD designs for propulsion system components
• Conduct prototyping and development testing for flight hardware and test rigs
• Review and approve drawings, 3D PMI, reports, and specifications
• Execute systems engineering tasks including requirements gathering and definition
• Manage projects including schedule maintenance, risk identification, and tasking
• Provide technical and professional mentorship and coaching to team members

Requirements

• Engineering degree
• 4+ years of experience in propulsion development or equivalent high-performance field
• Background working with fluid system components (valves, regulators)
• Experience with end-to-end development (requirements, design, qualification, production)
• Detailed mechanical design experience using NX or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter
• Hands-on engineering skills
• Ability to make decisions using engineering principles in ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Project leadership experience and schedule management
• Test engineering experience (test plans, instrumentation, data analysis)
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and post-processing
