About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire proposal process from initial assembly to final delivery, working closely with department leads and organizational leaders.
- Develop and maintain a core proposal library and archive to streamline future submissions.
- Create individual response strategies by analyzing solicitation documents, eligibility, and evaluation criteria.
- Conduct research and interviews with subject matter experts to convert technical information into compelling written narratives.
- Establish timelines for information gathering, writing, and internal review processes to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Format and assemble final proposal documents according to specific funder requirements and company policies.
- Integrate Indigenous culture, values, and ways of knowing into all methodologies and partnership descriptions.
- Champion social procurement and Indigenous workforce development by securing funding for training and apprenticeships within proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years of professional experience in proposal writing or grant writing.
- Proven track record of producing successful, persuasive, and competitive proposals.
- Strong knowledge of government programs (all levels) and private funding sources.
- Excellent research, analysis, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
- Ability to obtain valid CPIC clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, histories, and worldviews.
- Experience integrating social procurement and Indigenous-led initiatives into project planning.
