About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and project management for research projects focused on community-centered health services and reproductive health justice.
  • Coordinate research and knowledge implementation activities, ensuring compliance with ethical requirements, UBC policies, and external funding mandates.
  • Manage research project plans, timelines, and communications with community partners, trainees, and academic collaborators.
  • Oversee data management and analysis, maintaining high standards for data integrity, security, and ethical procedures.
  • Support the development of grant applications, research manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for academic journals and conferences.
  • Facilitate community engagement and knowledge translation activities, working closely with the Equity Strategist to support marginalized and underrepresented populations.
  • Assist in drafting ethics applications and developing research tools such as surveys via Qualtrics.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in research project management or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis.
  • Strong academic or technical writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, or Midwifery.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting applied health research in an academic environment.
  • Knowledge of OCAP principles and anti-oppression methods for community engagement.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis software (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCap, NVivo, SPSS, R, or Stata).
  • Familiarity with research conducted in a university setting and regulatory/ethical processes.
  • Experience using project management tools like Microsoft Planner.
