About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage on-site safety efforts on complex, large-scale projects, including data centers and advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Develop and ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans.
- Perform regular safety inspections, recommend corrective actions, and issue safety violations as necessary.
- Manage all new worker orientations and maintain detailed safety recordkeeping.
- Lead the safety portion of preconstruction meetings and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Conduct site-wide safety standdowns, toolbox talks, and small group discussions.
- Collect and manage subcontractor safety documentation, including fall protection plans and training certificates.
- Collaborate with subcontractors to conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- 5-15 years of construction experience managing complex, large-scale projects (e.g., data centers, heavy commercial, or industrial).
- BS in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field.
- Completed OSHA 30-hour training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Procore.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to follow a rotation schedule: 11 days on-site, followed by 3 days at home.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with a general contractor.
- CSP, CHST, STS, or similar safety certifications.
- OSHA 500/510 certification.
