Project Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee the project’s safety program throughout the full construction lifecycle
• Implement and manage construction safety processes, including hazard identification and mitigation
• Conduct incident investigations and prepare documentation with preventive recommendations
• Provide documented continuing education and practical training in fall protection, scaffolds, excavation, and electrical safety
• Review and approve safety method statements and procedures for high-hazard activities
• Coordinate emergency response planning and maintain accurate safety records
• Ensure subcontractors adhere to project safety standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• 7+ years of recent building construction safety experience
• 5+ years in construction safety process management or a 4-year safety degree with 3+ years field experience
• Experience must be in building construction only
• Documented continuing education (min. 4 hours per topic) within the last 5 years for key safety topics
• Must possess OSHA 500 or OSHA 502 certification
• Current certifications in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED

Preferred Qualifications

• CSP, CHST, or other BCSP certifications
• Proven ability to build and maintain a proactive safety culture
• Local candidates preferred
