About the role
Responsibilities
- Own site-wide health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs for hyperscale data center construction projects
- Perform daily walkthroughs focused on high-risk activities including trenching, crane operations, scaffolding, and heavy equipment
- Partner with prime contractors to ensure safety programs are effectively implemented
- Track and report incident rates, near misses, and leading safety indicators
- Lead safety oversight during the transition to live power environments, including UPS, switchgear, and generators
- Audit prime contractor safety programs and lead weekly safety leadership meetings
- Establish and maintain emergency response plans, evacuation routes, and medical response procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in heavy industrial construction safety (e.g., oil and gas, power generation, or large-scale manufacturing)
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification or OSHA 510
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
- Deep working knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and NFPA 70E
- Ability to work full-time on active construction sites in varying outdoor conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, GSP, or CHST
- Prior experience supporting data center construction or commissioning
- Proficiency with Procore or SafetyCulture/iAuditor
