About the role
Responsibilities
- Support procurement by identifying mandatory and recommended prime contract flow-down clauses for vendor contract templates.
- Review project contract templates to ensure adherence to specific project requirements.
- Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates and provide training on negotiation and terms and conditions.
- Negotiate high-risk contracts and provide initial legal review and negotiation support to project teams.
- Serve as a liaison between the procurement team and legal counsel to resolve commercial issues and move contracts toward execution.
- Resolve escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships and manage supplier-specific template negotiations.
- Interface with business, legal, risk, tax, and internal procurement departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional negotiation experience.
- Strong knowledge of equipment and materials common in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel periodically for short durations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Legal training or 5+ years of transactional/commercial management experience.
- Advanced knowledge in risk evaluation, claims mitigation, and dispute resolution.
