Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, initiation, and execution of centrally managed institutional projects, defining scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects related to operations, programs, and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Support change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new software or administrative processes.
• Maintain thorough project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, and lessons learned.
• Monitor departmentally managed projects to track progress and adherence to institutional standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, or a related field with 3 years of project management experience.
• OR a high school diploma/GED with a Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM) and 5 years of project management experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
• Proficiency in project management tools like Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or Jira.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in higher education or a similarly complex organizational structure.
• Professional project management credentials such as PMP or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
• Experience managing software implementation projects.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations relevant to higher education, such as FERPA or GDPR.
• Experience managing projects focused on process optimization in administrative services.
