Project Manager - Major Construction

Responsibilities

• Lead major construction projects within the Capital Gas Replacement Program, ensuring delivery is safe, on schedule, and within budget.
• Oversee project planning, construction strategies, and expenditure authorization.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Gas Operations, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Develop detailed construction schedules and risk management plans for multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects.
• Manage procurement and contract negotiations for design, construction, and inspection services.
• Utilize advanced project controls, such as critical path and earned value management, to monitor progress.
• Enforce construction safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (FERC, NERC, state, and local).
• Provide regular project status, cost, and risk updates to executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in project management.
• Proven experience managing heavy construction projects, preferably in gas, electric, or underground utility environments.
• Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure, including distribution systems and regulator stations.
• PMP certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Construction safety training (OSHA, OQ, or similar).
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost-loaded scheduling.

• Experience with Primavera software.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience in the energy industry.
