About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead major construction projects within the Capital Gas Replacement Program, ensuring delivery is safe, on schedule, and within budget.
- Oversee project planning, construction strategies, and expenditure authorization.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Gas Operations, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Develop detailed construction schedules and risk management plans for multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects.
- Manage procurement and contract negotiations for design, construction, and inspection services.
- Utilize advanced project controls, such as critical path and earned value management, to monitor progress.
- Enforce construction safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (FERC, NERC, state, and local).
- Provide regular project status, cost, and risk updates to executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in project management.
- Proven experience managing heavy construction projects, preferably in gas, electric, or underground utility environments.
- Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure, including distribution systems and regulator stations.
- PMP certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
- Construction safety training (OSHA, OQ, or similar).
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost-loaded scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Primavera software.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in the energy industry.
