Project Manager, Formulation Operations

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end formulation project lifecycle from project brief through tech transfer
• Serve as the primary coordination point between formulation sales, R&D, and contract manufacturing partners
• Manage day-to-day formulation project activity and conduct on-site lab reviews and prototype evaluations
• Plan and manage brand-facing formulation reviews, site visits, and facility tours
• Track and manage all Bill of Materials (BOM) components including raw materials and packaging
• Coordinate sample submissions and approval workflows between internal teams and brand customers
• Monitor development milestones and escalate issues related to formula performance or regulatory requirements
• Maintain rigorous project documentation in Monday.com

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in formulation project management, NPD, or beauty/skincare sales
• Working knowledge of beauty formulation development, stability testing, and tech transfer
• Experience managing Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation and version control
• Proficiency with project management tools like Monday.com or Optiva
• Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA and visit facilities in Riverside, CA
• Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in cosmetic science, chemistry, or beauty/skincare sales
• PMP certification or equivalent project management training
