Responsibilities

  • Lead transmission projects including overhead/underground lines, substations, and grid-modernization work
  • Manage the full project life cycle from conceptual planning and proposals through construction support and closeout
  • Develop project strategy and identify emerging regulatory and regional trends
  • Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality assurance
  • Lead siting and routing studies, including GIS-based constraints and habitat mapping
  • Manage environmental field studies and translate results into impact analyses and mitigation strategies
  • Develop permitting roadmaps and manage approvals with local, state, and federal agencies
  • Coordinate with utility planning and interconnection queues to ensure alignment with grid-planning needs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in transmission or grid infrastructure
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental management, planning, project management, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of the full transmission project lifecycle and regulatory landscape
  • Experience in ISO/RTO transmission needs assessments and planning processes
  • Proficiency with project management tools like MS Project or Smartsheet
  • Proven track record in proposal writing and business development
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagements

  • Existing professional network within the utility and energy-infrastructure sectors
  • Deep understanding of interconnection, reliability, and policy-driven transmission needs
