About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate construction projects across the five boroughs
- Assist with a portfolio of capital design or construction projects
- Act as the key contact during scoping, design, and construction procurement phases
- Ensure projects meet agency objectives and follow completion schedules
- Apprise Senior Project Managers of scheduling, construction, and design issues
- Maintain project budgets and prepare change orders, correspondence, and reports
- Liaise between contractors and the Department of Design and Construction
- Maintain comprehensive project history files and coordinate project schedules
Requirements
- Permanent status in the Associate Project Manager title or eligibility via specific Civil Service exams
- Experience supervising employees performing project management work on engineering, architectural, or landscape architectural projects
- Experience supervising construction projects valued at $1,000,000 or more
- Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, urban planning, or a related field plus relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Authorization to work full-time in the United States without sponsorship
