Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Perform project management for an HLS thermal control system prototype and development project
• Manage overall efforts related to systems, project, test, and logistics engineering
• Manage the project team, activities, and project schedules
• Provide budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimating support
• Monitor cost performance and develop financial reports
• Oversee the development of procedures, work instructions, and process flows
• Manage project risks and opportunities through a structured process
• Interface with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA personnel, and vendors
• Work with the lead systems engineer to meet technical and performance goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5-10 years of related experience in engineering project leadership
• Understanding of complex thermal control systems development and operations
• Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting and forecasting
• Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and track tasks to completion

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering
• Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures
• Prior experience working in a system development project or program
