About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite project management and advisory support for capital improvement and infrastructure modernization projects for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
- Act as a trusted partner to the Government, facilitating coordination among VHA leadership, healthcare staff, architect-engineers, and construction contractors.
- Oversee and monitor the execution of professional and technical services throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Proactively identify potential risks, delays, and conflicts, recommending mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
- Manage project documentation, including Project Management Plans, Communication Plans, and technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
- Support the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) by monitoring contractor performance and providing strategic guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience managing design and construction projects.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check (NACI) and VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting projects for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Experience with federal healthcare or hospital facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project scheduling, risk management, and construction administration.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
