Project Lead - Facility Development

About the Company

Singularity Defense is a stealth startup of former SpaceX, Anduril, and Lockheed applying the SpaceX model to mass produce air defense systems. Their first product is a low-cost air defense system for immediate deployment domestically and around the world where the need is critical.

Responsibilities

Phase 1 – Planning & Construction (Project Manager)

• Develop and manage integrated project plans for a 100+ acre campus including site work, utilities, roads, and test infrastructure.
• Lead permitting and land-use approvals with local and state authorities.
• Oversee design consultants and general/specialty contractors.
• Ensure construction complies with DoD facility clearance and energetics siting standards.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
• Coordinate startup and commissioning activities with operations and engineering.
• Maintain documentation of record including as-builts and inspection records.

Phase 2 – Transition to Facility Manager

• Assume ownership of day-to-day site operations as the campus ramps to production.
• Manage facility operations and maintenance across the full campus.
• Plan and manage capital improvement projects for expansion and renovation.
• Partner with EHS, security, and quality to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, ATF, and DoD requirements.
• Build and lead the site facilities team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in construction, facilities, or capital-project management.
• Experience managing projects in manufacturing, industrial, energetics, aerospace, or defense environments.
• Ability to plan and sequence complex, multi-phase projects.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools like Microsoft Project, Excel, or Smartsheet.
• U.S. citizenship, U.S. nationality, or lawful permanent residency required.
• Eligibility for State and Federal explosives licensing (ATF).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing or high-hazard environments.
• PMP certification.
• Experience with explosives facility siting standards (e.g., DoD 6055.09-STD).
• Experience with greenfield industrial site development.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related technical field.
