Project Geologist

Responsibilities

• Prepare Work Plans, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Reports, and other technical documents
• Perform environmental site assessments including groundwater, soil, surface water, and soil gas sampling
• Lead field activities, sample collection, logging, and adherence to health and safety protocols
• Coordinate with subcontractors and laboratories for drilling, sampling, and analytical services
• Evaluate environmental data and support technical findings and recommendations
• Assist with project coordination, schedule tracking, and task execution
• Support regulatory compliance documentation and participate in internal technical reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
• 2-10 years of professional experience in environmental consulting
• Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and certification
• Experience with multi-media environmental sampling and Phase I/II assessments
• Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to travel, including overnight travel
• Valid U.S. driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) License
• Master’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science
• Experience with the TDEC Voluntary Oversight and Assistance Program (VOAP)
• Experience supporting remedial investigations and corrective action activities
