Project Estimator/Project Controls Manager

General Matter enriches uranium. We are designing, building, and operating the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services, here in the US, to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel for AI, advanced manufacturing, and critical industries.

Responsibilities

• Formulate detailed CapEx cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and infrastructure
• Partner with design engineers to provide cost feedback during the conceptual phase
• Analyze project drawings and technical specifications for precise material take-offs
• Prepare cost breakdowns and assess procurement strategies
• Evaluate market rates and maintain a proprietary database of historical costs
• Coordinate with supply chain teams to validate vendor quotes
• Conduct cost-risk analysis and monitor project cost variances
• Present formal project cost proposals to leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field
• 3–5 years of direct experience in CapEx or construction estimating
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in petro-chem, technology infrastructure, or complex manufacturing preferred
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale industrial projects
• Expertise in bottom-up, parametric, or analog estimation methodologies
• Strong understanding of industrial engineering workflows
