Project Engineering Manager - Telecom

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of advanced telecommunications systems for railway projects.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure alignment with project planning and civil works.
• Supervise and inspect site telecommunications activities to ensure compliance with schedules and work plans.
• Perform field inspections to ensure adherence to safety policies and approved work methods.
• Manage the handover process to commissioning teams and support the testing phase.
• Analyze requirements and propose cost-effective technical solutions.
• Resolve on-site technical issues, from initial investigation to implementation of modifications.
• Create and maintain telecom architectures, solutions, and as-built documentation.
• Manage network deployment and sizing, including fiber optic transmission and physical deployments.
• Monitor network performance using protocol analyzers and key performance indicators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and media converters.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, MPLS, LAN-WAN, and routing principles (static and dynamic).
• Extensive working knowledge of complex wired and wireless network architecture design.
• Experience managing medium-to-large projects and technical teams.
• Proven understanding of test and commissioning processes.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with clients and third-party stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA and CCNP certifications.
• Experience with telecom subsystems specifically within the railway sector.
• Experience with railway signalling systems.
• Familiarity with wireless communications in demanding industrial scenarios.
