Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Independently determine project scope, investigation plans, and technical specifications including cost, time, and sample requirements.
• Communicate with clients to explain UL procedures, discuss technical issues, negotiate completion dates, and resolve concerns.
• Establish appropriate test programs by reviewing manufacturer information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets, scheduling work for technicians, and reviewing results.
• Notify clients of non-compliance with UL requirements or changes in project scope.
• Develop special test methods and equipment, and propose revisions to existing UL requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to laboratory and field staff and may train entry-level engineers.

Requirements

• University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program.
• At least four years of directly related work experience.
• Detailed knowledge of technical vocabulary common to the appropriate engineering discipline.
• Working knowledge of conformity standards within your area of expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts effectively.
