Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the Calcine Disposition Project by planning project scope, identifying resources, and executing work activities.
• Develop and review project plans, proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and engineers.
• Identify and manage technical and project risks.
• Monitor project progress against budget and schedule, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate project status to DOE and ICP management through reports and presentations.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of issues impacting scope, schedule, or cost.
• Maintain and archive project documentation in accordance with DOE directives and ICP standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in technology development, DOE facility design and construction, or facility closure.
• US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at a DOE facility with familiarity with DOE orders and requirements.
• Knowledge of DOE O 413.3B, DOE-STD-1189-2016, DOE-STD-1073, and DOE-STD-1104-2016.
• Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies (Idaho DEQ, U.S. EPA), Tribal Nations, and the public.
