Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for a wide range of structures above and below ground from planning through concept to implementation
• Assist in the assessment, rehabilitation, and seismic upgrade design of existing structures
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of other structural engineers, including technical reports, drawings, and specifications
• Write technical memos and reports to communicate engineering work effectively
• Support project planning and management to ensure delivery is on time, within budget, and meets technical and sustainability standards
• Provide technical oversight and mentor team members to maintain high standards of professionalism
• Collaborate with clients and third parties to identify new business opportunities and support proposal preparation

Requirements

• 5-10 years of civil or structural engineering experience, with an emphasis on transportation and heavy civil engineering structures
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from a recognized university
• Proficiency with engineering technologies such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, or MIDAS
• Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and relevant MTO technical publications
• Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation within PEO
• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering
• Experience with projects in rail and airport environments
• Previous experience working on heavy civil infrastructure projects in Ontario
