Project Engineer (Mechanical)

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical design activities with in-house design teams, consultants, and subcontractors
• Ensure all Mechanical designs comply with client specifications, regulations, and industry standards
• Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle from concept to commissioning
• Manage package delivery against programme milestones, budgets, and quality requirements
• Coordinate mechanical interface and collaboration with the STRABAG global technical centre
• Take ownership of electrical and ICA work packages from design through handover
• Manage supplier and subcontractor performance during manufacturing and installation
• Support BIM and digital engineering initiatives
• Witness installation, testing, and commissioning activities to verify compliance

Requirements

• Degree or Higher National qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience working in waste and clean water projects in the UK and Ireland
• Good understanding of WIMES specifications and standards
• Solid understanding of construction practices and standards
• Specialist knowledge of the Water Industry and engineering disciplines
• Ability to manage mechanical, electrical, and ICA work packages

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with value engineering initiatives
• Familiarity with BS standards and UK/Irish water sector legislation
