Project Engineer - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project engineering including development, design, construction, and start-up.
• Define project scope, develop cost estimates and schedules, and secure funding approvals.
• Monitor project costs, forecast monthly spend, and support capital and expense budgets.
• Ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Information (PSI), and mechanical integrity documentation.
• Coordinate with in-house designers and external engineering consultants to complete studies and projects cost-effectively.
• Collaborate with Technical Services, Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support execution.
• Develop and review construction packages to ensure compliance with industry codes and safety standards.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and HAZOP/LOPA reviews.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and engineering support for refinery process operations and unit shutdowns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to perform essential job functions including wearing PPE, working at heights, and confined space entry.
• Authorization to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of post-degree engineering experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
• Strong organizing, planning, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic refining environment.
