Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality projects on-time and on-budget to clients
• Design, review, and oversee production of plans, contract documents, specifications, and cost estimates for publicly bid projects
• Coordinate with other service lines such as geomatics, water resources, and site civil to develop project plans
• Manage subconsultants and participate in field reviews to support alignment development
• Oversee design, technical analyses, and engineering calculations for submittal packages and permitting applications
• Supervise and mentor junior staff
• Participate in business development activities and develop client relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, or a related field
• North Carolina PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• 5+ years of experience in hydraulics, water resource engineering, and erosion/sediment control design
• Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
• Technical proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, scour investigations, and stormwater management design
• Knowledge of AASHTO, NCDOT, and NC municipal guidelines
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NCDOT projects
• HEC-RAS experience
• Interest in multimodal transportation issues and design
