About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage the administrative and technical aspects of heavy civil infrastructure projects, including highway, bridge, and rail construction.
  • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications to identify inaccuracies or cost-saving measures.
  • Inspect field conditions and subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate scheduling software.
  • Manage document control, including receiving, logging, and distributing new issue drawings and contract documents.
  • Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
  • Supervise and provide on-the-job training for junior-level field and cost engineers.
  • Drive company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.

Requirements

  • BS degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of field and project engineering experience in self-performed construction, specifically focusing on heavy civil works/infrastructure.
  • At least 3+ years of experience managing engineers with exposure to cost control and scheduling management.
  • Proven ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work at various project locations within the Rocky Mountain region.
